At Korowai Aroha, we genuinely seek to connect with hapū māmā, supporting them using the Te Whare Tapa Whā model of health, which underpins our practice.
Amanda Pachoud, a Registered Nurse Prescriber and Ear Nurse Specialist, leads the Pepi, māmā and tamaiti service. Amanda is absolutely passionate about working with hapū māmā, pēpi and tamaiti, and provides a high level of care to support hapu māmā and their whānau. Amanda works collaboratively with the team at Korowai Aroha as well as organisations from the wider community, to ensure whānau have access to appropriate services, reducing barriers supporting equity in health outcomes.
Here is what a few of our participants have had to say:
”I felt like no-one listened to me and they looked at me like I was young and didn’t know what I was doing but Amanda did”
– Māmā of 3year old ‘Tekiri’ with eczema
“Amanda comes and helps us when we need it. My whanau needed help with immunisations, asthma, skin concerns and also dental, she even did my script and got the medicine, I’m so grateful”
– Māmā of baby ‘Tawharai’
